Helping Hands Street Mission is a ministry located in one of the most impoverished neighbourhoods of the City of Hamilton, acting as a beacon of light, in what is a very dark place for many.
Most of the people we serve are living in poverty at the best of times, while living in bondage to drugs, prostitution, and mental illness the majority of the time. This means that for many of them, much of society treats them with disdain and resentment.
Our mission, however, is to “reach out, one hand at a time, with love and respect”. Through our free clothing store, free cafe, and program center we build relationships with each person who walks through our door, and trust the Holy Spirit to speak truth into their lives.
Our hope is to show each person the love that Jesus Christ died to show, and lead them to the healing and restoration that He wants them to experience.
